Cracked Concrete Porch / Leaking Cold Cellar

October 21, 2017

Our customer was having issues with rain water leaking down from the ceiling in his cold cellar. After inspecting the outside porch we discovered a hairline crack running perpendicular from the house outward. We cut out a six inch wide gap of concrete, completely cleaned and exposed the crack, and used Quickrete Concrete Repair Sealant to fill the crack. Once the tack time elapsed we used Quickrete Hydraulic Water Stop Cement to seal the vertical crack on the front face of the slab and Quickrete Sand Mix Concrete to fill the entire six inch horizontal gap. After 72 hours had passed we asked the client to completely flood the porch and run a hose over it for 20 minutes. Another job done, another happy customer without a leaking basement.
